Glacier Bay – Alaska

While in Alaska we got to see a glacier. We saw a few of them actually. I can't even begin to describe the sense of awe I felt. Pictures will never do it justice.

Park rangers came aboard the ship that day and described how the glaciers were created. One ranger read quotes from various famous people while narrating our surroundings. It was a very nice touch.
We saw several glaciers –all amazing– and all the locals spoke about how global warming is destroying these natural wonders a few feet at a time each year.
I feel pretty privledged and blessed to have seen this before the glaciers are a distant memory.

  1. I highly recommend it. There are several cruise ships that go into that area. That seems to be the best way because the smaller towns not too far away are only reachable by boat or small sea planes. šŸ™‚

  2. I want to see a glaciar in my lifetime too, because I think we're among the last to have the opportunity. Thanks for sharing!
