Happiness is…

Getting back to work after a week and a half off to find out that you still have two floating holidays to use before the end of the year!  Woo-hoo!  I slept until 9:30am today which is completely unheard of in this household.  I dreamt that I was back at the tropical beach with my family which was disappointing when I realized I was really in my own bed.  But then…I realized it's almost January and I live in Phoenix.  Yeah!

Someone's taken over the fainting sofa in the girl cave.

See what happens when you go on vacation for awhile?

A Little Too “Chick” For His Taste…

We arrived in Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday and have been staying at a boutique-type hotel that my sister found on the Internet. I guess It could be described as funky European. We have a balcony in our room that overlooks the intercoastal water way.

Thursday night Ruben and I sat out on the balcony watching the ships go by with their Christmas lights on. I asked Ruben what he thought of the hotel. "I don't know," he said. "It's a little too chick for my taste."

"You mean chic?" I asked.

"Thats what I said. Chick, C-H-I-C."

"Um, I think it's pronounced 'chic.'

"Whatever. You pronounce it your way, I'll pronounce it mine."

Thankful Thursday

First off, I'm thankful that it is Thursday already.  :D.  I'm thankful that a co-worker pointed out the most spectacular sunset this evening.  The view from the 14th floor was amazing!  The sky literally looked on fire.  I was going to try to capture this on my camera phone but I know it wouldn't be the same as seeing.

I'm thankful today that although I worried about not getting everything done I needed to at work, I was still able to by a decent hour.  I was also able to take a lunch break (imagine that!) 😉

I'm thankful for Christmas music.  There is a radio station that plays Christmas music non-stop from mid-November until the day after Christmas.  I usually wait until after Thanksgving to tune in but there is nothing like Christmas music to get you in the holiday mood!

I get to see my family two weeks from today!  Woo-hoo!

Here is another thing I'm grateful for:
