Truth be told that when I first picked this book up at the library a few weeks ago I had forgotten that it had come out as a movie only a year or so ago starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Once at home the realization hit me and I thought, oh great, a romance novel. What was I thinking?
However, I had just finished reading The Hour I First Believed, by Wally Lamb and after reading such a deep and disturbing novel I thought, what the heck, I'm going to read Nights In Rodanthe. I didn't think I would get past the first chapter. Truth be told I was pleasantly surprised. This book was more than a love story between two people. There was an actual lesson to it. This book was a fairly quick read and I was quite impressed in how Mr. Sparks was able to get to the point of the story while still painting a perfectly detailed picture within the pages.
