It’s Not Easy Being Green

Although this picture of this little guy (or girl) did not quite capture the vibrancy as I hoped it would, he is actually a very bright emerald color.

Instead of thinking 'ew, a bug,' I thought, 'wow, how beautiful.'  He was sitting on my windowsill at work one morning and it was hard not to notice him.

  1. They are, aren't they? His shell almost appeared like velvet.

  2. That's right. I didn't even think of that. He most likely is male. I wonder if he was checking out his reflection in the window. 😉

  3. I've been seeing those, too! They fly in at night and settle near a lamp. They are cute little dudes. Interesting shape, too.

  4. He is a very handsome beetle. The female is probably dull…. 🙂

  5. Yes, he kind of does. He almost appeared to have a velvet shell. I have never seen anything like it.

  6. I think if he saw himself in the mirror he would think he was quite handsome. 🙂

  7. The beetle looks purple in the picture but I can imagine the type of beetle you describe. Such a vibrant color of green.

  8. Hello..I am sure the ecosystem of the world agrees with what you say in the face of humanity..that the li'l bo weevil agrees is a given..Peace Tony
